It's A Boy!

Although we did not find out the sex of our baby, we both thought we were having a girl throughout the entire pregnancy...we were pleasantly surprised when our doctor announced "It's a boy!" Nolan Ryan Leonard entered the world on Friday, November 2nd, at 6:31 a.m. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and measured 21 inches long. Nolan's stats were great, especially since he was born ten days earlier than his due date of November 12th. We love Nolan so much, and he has forever changed our lives!

Labor!

Meg was induced after being admitted to Prentice Women's Hospital. She was in labor for about 12 hours. Prentice just opened on October 20th. It is more like a hotel than a hospital. We had a lakefront view with unbelievable care from the best doctors and nurses. Although labor was a bit rough, it was a wonderful experience!

Going to the Hospital

Meg had to be induced on November 1st because of gestational hypertension (extremely high blood pressure and swelling). She was also borderline pre-eclamptic. Meg's friend Heather drove her to the doctor on November 1st. Rick left work and met her there. Meg is pictured alone leaving the house and then with Rick in the parking garage at the doctor's office on Michigan Avenue before heading to Prentice Women's Hospital.

Baby's Nursery

We just moved into our new home on October 6th. The baby's nursery was completed just in time!

Showering Baby Leonard Again!

Meg's co-workers at Quin Early Learning Center had a shower for Baby Leonard in October, too!
