Nolan's New Learning Table

Mommy set-up Nolan's learning table, and he LOVED it! He enjoys standing and working on his skills. It is so much fun!

Nolan is trying hard to get moving, too. Mommy is sad about Nolan moving, but he will be much happier when he can go when and where he wants. He is getting too big too quickly!

Nolan is really thinning out...we shall see at his nine month doctor appointment on the 13th! Stay tuned for his new stats!
Nolan was playing with his bus, and he somehow got his leg through the handle...hmmmm...that's a problem!
He needed intervention from Mommy after some heavy problem-solving. His thigh is pretty thick, and there was not too much room to spare between his skin and the handle. Thank goodness Nolan was so patient!

Nolan The Helper

Nolan is such a good helper. He helped MoMo and Aunt Maura put together a new bookshelf. He was in the box, holding the tools and standing up...it is the perfect height when it is on its side!

Practicing The New Trick

Nolan practiced his new trick...in the bathroom. He had a great time checking out the bathroom vanity while Mommy was getting ready to go out. Nolan is into everything!

Nolan checked out the scrub brush that Mommy uses while cleaning the tub...so exciting!

He checked out the hair dryer, too. He loves to watch Mommy blow dry her hair, so it was great fun to play with it!

A curling iron, too...such great things are hidden in the vanity! Nolan loved exploring!
He tried to pull himself up using the door handles.

Nolan opened the drawers, too.
Two at once...so talented!
Thanks again to MoMo for teaching Nolan such a great skill!

We visited with Uncle Mike, Mike and Timmy who were in town for the Cubs game. Nolan sported his shades and Sox hat. He has been carrying his boom box around on all of his walks lately...what a cool baby!
Daddy helped Nolan walk while watching the trees.
Nolan loves corn on the cob!
He also enjoyed his first ice cream cone...yummy!
Nolan ended the night with a bath in Pops and MoMo's sink before heading home to bed after the big storm!

Reading and Growling

Nolan loves to read books. Baby Talk is one of his favorites!

I am having difficulty with uploading a growling video. I will keep trying and hopefully get it to work soon!

Checking Out The Cabinets

We went to Pops and MoMo's house on Sunday for dinner to wish MoMo a happy birthday. They returned from their trip to New York and brought Nolan a cute t-shirt. It looked great with his swim trunks.

We put the airplane and some toys in the playpen to keep Nolan safe and happy while we were getting dinner ready.
He loved his first ear of corn on the cob! The ribs were delicious, too!
MoMo taught Nolan a new trick...how to open and close the cabinets. Now, he wants to open and close every cabinet and door he sees. His eyes sparkle when he sees a knob. It is Nolan's new favorite past time. Thanks for being such a great teacher, MoMo!

Nine Months Old

Nolan is nine months old today! He is the best baby! Mommy and Daddy are so lucky! Nolan is so much fun and is doing so many great things everyday! He is a great sleeper and eater. He is eating all big people food and has been for quite awhile now. No more baby food in our house! He loves to read books and play with his toys. He loves songs...his current favorites are "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "Wheels on the Bus" and "Hello Everybody." Nolan has been growling (talking) non-stop lately. We will try to upload a video of the growls soon. It is pretty funny! It is hard to believe that Nolan is nine months old...he is pure joy and brings so much happiness to our lives!
We went to Play For Maeve, a fundraiser for pediatric brain tumor research, today. It is a fun family day at Beverly Park in memory of Maeve McNicholas. Nolan liked seeing all of the babies and kids at the park. The Chicago Fire Department brought a big truck and turned on a huge hose. Daddy took Nolan under for a second to cool off. Nolan loved it!

Check out this website for more information about The Maeve McNicholas Memorial Foundation: www.maevesfoundation.org.

Becoming Mobile

Nolan is definitely becoming more mobile. He occasionally gets up on all fours and wants to go so badly. He is squirmy while being held and loves to walk while holding an adult's fingers. It seems like our world is quickly changing as Nolan wants to go everywhere and check everything out. He likes to "walk" on his knees, too. He is so much fun!
Here, Nolan is pulling himself up on his toy.

He also built a fort with his bus and push toy...what a great imagination!
