Nolan's MRI Follow-Up Appointment

Mommy forgot to post the results of Nolan's follow-up appointment with his neurosurgeon. Dr. Hahn said that Nolan's cyst is unchanged since last year and that Nolan is better than perfect! That was great news! He was very positive and will follow Nolan for the next few years. Dr. Hahn did say that he would point Nolan in the direction of Tiger Woods rather than Eli Manning when the time comes since Nolan would have a greater chance of head trauma with his prior history of a skull fracture and arachnoid cyst. Nolan's physique seems to resemble a football player, but he would be a great golfer. He has plenty of time to figure out what he wants to do, and we can think about his needs/concerns when the time comes...in many more years, thank goodness!

First Night at the Pool

Chicago weather has been really cool and rainy lately. Nolan dipped in the hot tub with Pops and Aunt Maura on Monday, but he has not been swimming yet this season. Nolan visited Pops and MoMo's pool tonight and had a great time. He helped MoMo water her flowers. He really loves his watering can!

He went in the baby pool since none of the grown ups wanted to go in the big pool.
Aunt Maura put his red chair in the pool.
Nolan looked like a king!
Nolan wore his life jacket that is going to be worn all summer at Pops and MoMo's pool. He had a freeze pop and watched for airplanes with Pops.

He walked around and showed how great he looks in his vest.
Nolan played cars with MoMo and Pops...they had so much fun with the trucks!
Nolan is going to love the pool this summer! Tonight was a good omen!

Cars, Trucks and Trains

Nolan's favorite toys are cars, trucks, trains, buses and anything else that has wheels and moves. He spends hours playing with his parking garage, train set, ramps, etc. He is doing lots of pretend play, too. He is so much fun!

Nolan just recently started using the gas tank to fill up his vehicles.
He is so interactive and learning new things everyday! Life is so much fun with Nolan!

Garbage Day

Nolan loves Thursday mornings because the garbage trucks come down our street one by one to collect the trash, recycling, and yard clippings. Nolan hears the truck noises from far away and runs to the front windows to wait for the trucks. He gets so excited and would go right through the front window if he could. The truck drivers come close to the window, wave to Nolan and honk their horns for him. Nolan was getting his diaper changed this morning when he heard the truck noises. Mommy barely fastened the diaper before eager Nolan quickly went downstairs to get ready for the garbage trucks. We waited outside, and Nolan was in heaven!
He watched and waited...
The truck came closer...
Check Spelling And then it was at our house!
Nolan was so excited!
The truck went to our neighbors' houses...
Nolan stood still and watched the truck go down our block.
He watched that truck until it turned the corner.
Then, we took our garbage can back toward the garage.

Nolan wanted to stay outside for a few minutes.
He LOVES to run around outside!
He chased some bunnies.
He pointed as they ran away from him.
The bunnies ran across the street.
It poured rain this morning, so Mommy put the flower pots out in the rock so that they could get watered by the rain. Nolan helped put the pots back on the porch.
He tried to lift the hanging basket up, too. He is so strong!
Thursdays in the summer are great days...Nolan loves the garbage trucks so much!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

And Nolan is snoring! He fell asleep in his high chair after his lunch while Mommy went to get the washcloth. Nolan took a great nap and then...he went to play outside in the rain!

Nolan loves the rain, so we try to make the most of our rainy days (and we have had a good amount of those lately).
Rain, rain, go away!

Nolan's New Haircut

Nolan was in need of a hair trim...the top does not really grow too quickly, but the back was going over his collar sometimes. These are the before pictures...
These are the after pictures...

Nolan suddenly looks so old! He is such a big boy! Mommy wonders what happened to her little baby!!??
